The other is under a cold frame which is only opened to water. The vines are spreading along the groun...

Thanks Tony looks like I will have to buy some.
Seen 3 types for salad, will probably try the chips & roasting roasting variety as like you we like roasted spuds.

Re: Co-incidence or a sign?
I have no interest in the designer garden show but give me a program on allotments or veg growing then I'm hooked. Best bits on Monty Doms show has been the bloke from Lincolnshire that showed his veg bed set up from beginning and the allotment set up in Birmingham. As a side note there was a young ...

Re: Beetroot surprise
Never knew you had to let sit for an hour to carry on cooking, or to add sugar.
I braved hot fingers to peal beetroot then put straight into vinegar guess it will be ok.

Hey Westi that's the type I am using nothing like the old ones from the past. Great for pasta, veg & fish although fish is off the menu as local supermarket has closed its wet fish counter and gone prepacked which I refuse to buy.

Re: Changing Recipe Servings
Yes I have a freezer but usually full of surplus grown veg.
I am not in favour of making a large load and freezing it.
When I make a veggie chilli there is always enough for 2 days so I have it two days consecutively sometimes it goes into three days.

I would eat the size you have, find they are not as hot but a good start, you can always add a couple if it's the heat you want.

Re: Mid Summer Bits and Bobs.
I only cover new beds for the first time to get ride of the weeds, beds that have been productive once are replanted.
I am in the process of adding 4 new 12ft x 4ft beds which will get the usual cardboard, compost & covered in plastic treatment over winter.
