Hi OH, You're early again. I thought it might be a kind of bumble bee but didn't know its name. Looked in a book I have but couldn't find it. Very big but lovely. I have been trying to plant up my back garden with plants which attract bees though nothing is out yet. So I might see it again.

The end of an era!!!!

I am devastated this week as my most favourite trousers are no more. The trousers I have worn for the last 20, yes 20 years have given up. Almost every weekend gardening , walking, camping and everything have gone. I am beside my self, They were the first Zimbaloos trousers I bought in 1987, before ...

Beautiful Morning

I couldn't sleep this morning so I was up at 5.30am. I went up to the lottie to do some jobs, It was lovely and I sat on my bench watching the sun slowly rising. I sprayed one of my beds for weeds, because we have both been unable to dig and the weeds have taken over. I emptied the polytunnel of cab...

Cabbages - help

Can anyone tell me what to do with my cabbages as I started them off in the polytunnel and when the seeds appeared I put them in to 3" pots. I heard that to help prepare them for putting in the plot when you had club root it was better to pot them on into bigger pots to make them strong. My pro...
