Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

Well here I am sat at the side of a hospital bed ,on Monday afternoon I was asked to take my grandson to his other grandmas I was getting into my car when I did a nose dive over the dividing wall between me and my neighbours on my side it’s about 25 cm high on his just short of a meter about 3 feet...

Re: Dishwasher Question

Does the dishwasher work adequately? It's just that as far as I know, it is undesirable to put anything other than dishes into the dishwasher. I treat my dishwasher with care so that it lasts longer. We recently changed the detergent and so far the result is pleasing.

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

What a difference a day makes! Yesterday we worked in the garden in short sleeves with the sun shining all day (albeit a sneaky light easterly wind) and today everything is covered in thick snow! Well, that's February for you ..... That's why I didn't even start gardening. It's too early and the we...

Shallot man. It,s amazing how many business executives can suffer from false delusions these days when the wallet is affected ! It's like the banks trying to force everybody to go cashless and use online banking. They have no idea how many poor people can only use cash because they can,t get a cred...

Re: House chicken

I find chickens to be very intelligent and usually very sensible birds. Huge characters too and underrated by most people, including me until I kept my first flock 25+ years ago. Flossy is still outside, but is taking a break and sitting in her hut, looking out of the door. She does tire easily the...

Re: Fixing Greenhouse!

It all depends on how much you expect. Of course, it would be nice to take a photo of the frame and consult a hardware store. Now there is a huge variety of building materials. maybe eat something new and suitable.

Re: What's on the menu?

Stravaig, I think just being able to relax and go with the flow this Christmas may have proved to be one of the hidden benefits of this year,s tight Coronavirus restrictions. Catering for large groups of family members is rarely stress free with all the shopping, planning and work needed on the day...

Have you looked at spare parts for e-bay or in some hardware stores? I think this will help you find the parts you need even faster.

Puddles on lottie were iced over & temp in the poly with doors closed said 2.6C today. I'm always amazed with the difference between home & there despite just a mile's distance. Buildings are quite amazing for absorbing & releasing heat & I think suburbia might be more my style - re...

Re: Autumn Bits and Bobs

I think the limited Break in the rules over Christmas is going to be problematic for those having to travel huge distances. It,s just too stressful and tiring for many people, especially the potential bad weather and congestion. We,ve resigned ourselves to staying home, stocking up with festive foo...

Re: Autumn Bits and Bobs

I'm tired of cloudy weather. The sky is constantly overcast. In the morning you get up to work - it's dark. By lunchtime you just fall asleep, because it’s dark in the evening. This is wildly depressing.

Cold, wet, windy & pretty miserable down at the plot today, but despite the pup's assistance I have the new raspberry & strawberry beds planted up with all the appropriate pup deterrents in place - well after she demonstrated how high she could jump so technically it is prototype No. 2. I s...

Re: Cherry Tree Leaves

It seems to me that this is some kind of pest. Do you not have locusts or aphids? It looks very much like someone ate the leaf. Although, after the aphids, it would be twisted, and after the locust, it would be eaten. I would say it looks more like a tree mite. If it is still a tick or other parasit...

Re: Growing lights

I finally bought myself lamps for growing plants. At first I just wanted to buy an LED strip and make it myself, but with the current rhythm of life, I would have been making a suitable light for ages. Therefore, I found ready-made options. Here m found several suitable options. I ordered lamps for ...

Re: Sweet Potatoes

Without drainage holes, there will be no ventilation in the roots, liquid will stagnate, leading to decay. And if you plan to grow sweet potatoes in small containers, then there should be no more than one plant in the container.
