Filling my latest raised bed number 8 yesterday with homemade compost I noticed the different bugs/worms/spiders etc in & around the compost. Would have thought this is what is needed for good harvest not sterilised lifeless soil? No major issues with weed seeds as they temp gauge goes in to the...

I have the opinion that the treatment costs in a dogs later years is worth it for the pleasure the dog gives you in it’s younger years.

When I sowed the spring onions I used the multi seed method 8/10 per cell for spring onions pulled the good looking ones first and left others in ground.

Sow 6/7 for bulbs which I have not tried yet.

Onions were bolting early this year for a couple of us on the plot, it was suggest due to weather, happy with result though they were all over wintered.

Sowed some spring onions and let get larger than normal, very tasty nearly blows you head off.

I use it in reverse as I collect food scraps & wood ash and any cardboard for composting. Jokingly said would be good to have solar panel on my back with a wind turbine on my helmet. Looking to add a solar system on the plot for pumping water and be used to recharge the lights/bike alarm on the ...

New tool for getting to & from plot

Had to share my new mode of transport for getting to the plot.

Had 2 bags of compost in the trailer and it pulled ok.

It is electric assisted and gets up to 15 mph.

Wondering what is the benefit of growing sunflowers, do they do anything for the soil or is just for fun of growing them?

I checked the brought garlic concentrate there is no use by date so guess it wont go off quick.

Wonder if it is like comfrey tea or red wine it gets better with age?

Would a garlic spray work?

All my Brassicas are covered with scaffolding netting which seems to keep most pest off and using garlic spray for those that get through.

I have heard of Bacillus Thuringiensis not used it but wonder if it would help.
