Re: Coronation signature dish

Nothing is wasted in our house, anything that cant be eaten is off to the compost. I do chopped spuds in olive oil & butter, save the left over juice for next day for a pasta dish, save on washing up as well. Recipes are the first pages I go to in the magazine, so you have my vote Stravaig as co...

Re: Coronation signature dish

I love Fish & chips cooked in dripping.

I remember saving dripping(any fat) left of from cooking in a dish then turning it upside down and use the bottom scaping on bread.

Healthy eating in them days.

Re: NHS - just wait 8 months...

Have you noticed an egg timer at the Dr?

Fellow plot holder was saying he saw one on a consultants desk and I saw one on the "The Dr will see you Now" prog last night.

Is this a ne way of keeping your visit to what ever the current time you are allowed?

"I agree, it is odd that they use lard in their pastry - a lot of people are vegetarians and even if they're not they don't eat pork. It's an odd recipe right enough."

Never knew lard was pig fat...You learn something every day.

Re: NHS - just wait 8 months...

No idea if I have had it or not, never done a test, had all the jabs so guess they work.

Mind you I don't go to crowded places which I am sure helps.

Re: NHS - just wait 8 months...

The doctor phoned this morning. he can come and do it today. NO THANK YOU. Husband is in London, the flat is in a tip, and I have a heap of stuff to do. Trying to schedule it for later this week. This seems the wrong attitude to my mind, so the flat is a tip who cares, it's the ear that he ...

Re: NHS - just wait 8 months...

The way it is run leaves a lot to be desired...As new referral for hearing check I am entitled to new hearing aids, the NHS ones (supplied January before lockdown) cannot be used/ modified by Specsavers. As for the current strikes I feel they are loosing public support plus they don't seem to be con...

Re: NHS - just wait 8 months...

A few days of olive oil in the earole then squirt of warm water and hey presto hearings back...Not the selective hearing though! Thought it a bit wearied t...

Re: Cookbooks vs restaurants

Brought some tomatoes from farm shop which were hard and no flavor, so contacted them and ask for refund which was denied. If this had been supermarket a refund would have been granted straight away. Alternative experience.... I cant buy 4 mushrooms in supermarket as all prepacked and no bags for lo...

Re: I want to win the lottery

Reminds me of a discussion "power of saying thank you" ways to reward good/regular clients.
Someone brought lottery tickets to be enclosed with the thankyou card, unfortunately they kept them incase they came up.
