Scar up or down?
Hi Val, Jerry and Paul, Jerry, what you have said may well be true and that is assuming that in nature there is no difference in the outcome. Which I very much doubt. I did a series of experiments a couple of years ago and this was for Bean seed sown in 7cm square pots. As John quite rightly points ...

GM
Well were not off to a very good start. Monsanto have not ruined anybody's buisness as well you should know Peat. The strange thing is that Monsanto cannot keep up with demand with gm cotton seed. You can read on anti-gm sites such things as "Cotton Crop in India Complete Failure" but what...

Malvern Spring Show
Hi, I agree that Sunday 14th May seems to be the best day to suit so that Piglet and Mrs Piglet can make it without any bother. Last year Wellie managed to book in advance and also the RED Carpark and actually managed to park about 4 vehicles from the entrance. She supplied a wonderful spread and th...

I would suggest at least 5-6ft gap between fruit patch and vegetables. Salad stuffs can be put closer but only when you really have to. Soft Fruits require full sunshine so if you manage to shroud your fruit patch with ,say Runner Beans, you are denying the fruit of something most essentiial. Nothin...

Allan, As I sit at my puter and look out the window I am looking at Pay de Gaulle and the bad weather always comes from there. Apart from Monmouth really being part of England I agree it is certainly more civilised than most of the place. I probably do more forays into Wales than you but that is not...

I agree with Jenny about the fleece and the longivity between 17gm and 30 gm. The 30gm can be used year after year but the 17gm snags and tears so easily it is a bad investment. As for the cloches I have made my own but for what it worth if I were buying them I would go for the netting because you c...

The Linguists!
Hi Both, Another piece of useless information is that I do French Evening Classes and because the classes I attend are in Powys you can also take Welsh but the cost of Welsh Classes is double that of French hence when it comes to beginning the classes they never go ahead because they don't get enoug...

Logging on
Hi Anonymouse,
I know this sounds silly but are you sure that when you try to log on that you have not been logged on automatically by your infernal machine.
I did that once at the very begining of the Forum and that was the result that I got.
Only a thought mind.

Hi Peter, What a wonderful shot!! So full of vibrant energy!! I rather like GSP's they make wonderful beating dogs. My mate used to breed them and had one he could control from about a quarter of a mile away. However having said that I belong to the anti-shooting brigade so perhaps I shouldn't be si...

Hi Allan, I do not fully understand why you sow three lettuce seeds per module because as I see it you are defeating the object of module plants. Here it is one seed per module and out of tray straight into the soil done and dusted. So what do you do split the plants out of the module? I just cannot...
