hello everyone it the time of the year to collect seaweed that gets washed up on the strand/beach so if you live near the coast seaweed is a very good soil conditioner it also acts as a mulch to keep down weeds . i also use it to make home made seaweed liquid feed.ONLY PICK SEAWEED THAT GETS WASHED ...

i have been to many agricultural shows etc in Munster south west ireland and have never seen or heard of a show for your vegetable etc.so suck it up and be happy there are a few shows in you locality that show vegetable.things could be worse as it is here

the male flowers grow on a little stalk the female flowers have the flower on a swelling the swelling on a butternut squash looks like a small butternut squash.does this help

we always shoot one magpie then we hang it by its legs some where it is visible some where high up .it never fails to work .the same method works well for crows as well. so we don't need netting etc.if you don't have a gun i am sure a game keeper will supply you with one for free

my butternut squash is doing my nut in its flowered i pollinated it the squashes all grew to a small pear size before they started to rot from the flowering end . i tried breaking the flower head from it but with no success. what am i doing wrong

i will be lifting my shallots next week i will dry them well before i store them . the first year i grew them i didn't dry them properly and stored them in onion bags i lost a lot of them as they rotted be sure to dry your properly first
