Grock, we're both right "This season belongs to Brigid, the Celtic goddess who in later times became revered as a Christian saint. Originally, her festival on February 1 was known as Imbolc or Oimelc, two names which refer to the lactation of the ewes, the flow of milk that heralds the return o...

If I didn't fall asleep within half an hour he'd add more sugar to the brew. When you think about it, the things our parents did to us they'd be busted for child cruelty tod...

Last year I harvested my onions and sowed beetroot the following week. I'm still cropping this as I covered the rows in fleece before the frosts came. :D

You've made me think about how much time I spend in my garden/allotment and it's scary. I do have a life outside my plot, I think...

I have two youngsters that are still not laying. Anna hasn't laid for over a month and Cuckoo laid one egg last October and gave up. They're less than a year old so I guess they're still learning. I don't recall either of them moulting more than a few feathers either. My other bird, Selsey, is the s...

Hi Valmarg, I wasn't risking my liver honestly. I was on industrial strength pain killers as an option to calling 999 again and going to hospital as happened the last few times. You see, I really wanted to go to Potato Day! Probably a mistake as I've crawled out of bed today for the first time since...
