The two stroke Multi-tool strimmer took a while to start - temporarily removing the filter seems to do the trick. It would appear taller peas fell out of favour as they cannot be harvested by Machine, so any available variety would fall in the 'Heritage' category, we picked some up from Ryton's Heritage Seed Library a couple of years ago. Birmingham Council raised the rents from £20 to £75 in 3 years.

Result - 80 plot site goes from 2 vacant plots to 32, 12 plot site down to 5 only in use.

I think we could do with a few more tenants, even short term, to avoid the 'oh, it's under used,we'll merge sites & sell the land'

Hi We used a variety of containers last year. Large green surplus compost bins, cut horizontally in half, were very successful, as were nursery type tree pots of 75l and 100l. All started with a small amount of compost, and earthed up as required. Potato yields similar to those grown in the ground, ...
