At least they are saying Xmas Day & Boxing Day are going to be OK but will be of small consequence for some with this prelude on top of the rainfall we have already had. It's back again on Friday from the weather forecast!

Once again someone has beaten me to my sprouts! This is probably my third year! My sprouts were teeny tiny! In the row above me there are real beauts but they want mine! Not connoisseurs apparently but obviously my plot is hidden better! Not pining - I don't care too much for a sprout, but grow them...

MW they don't like walking on prickly things either - try some holly leaves in a barrier it can't jump over. Even more effective when they start drying out a bit & the pointy ends turn up slightly! Keeps mine off my salad bed at home! I put them on when I sow & the plants come up through it....

Opened the back door this morning to let the dogs out & a little toad was just sitting on the step. It was raining & he did seem at ease but should he be out and about at the moment? I have just had new windows & doors put in do you think he was disturbed by this & a bit disorientate...

Whether they are cheap or expensive my little pinkies go through them! I buy cheap - doesn't upset me quite as much when they fail!

Indeed Alan - probably no cleaners, nurses, kitchen help & no agency staff & likely no factory production line staff or the other multitude of lower paid jobs that our unemployed seem to avoid! It could be an idea that all unemployed who do not accept these jobs, those with the dodgy injurie...

OH - I think I have it under control - but was just pressies for friends! I do think it is better to have last minute rush - this far away from Xmas it's not quite what they have hinted at - only what I think they'll like! Fingers crossed!

Xmas present shopping all done, dusted & delivered! Even got more than 1/2 wrapped! The joys of internet shopping. Might have to do the Xmas eve visit to the high street though just for the sake of nostalgia (or more likely I'll have forgotten someone or something)!
