Re: Seville oranges arriving earlier than they used to?

That's hard as home made marmalade somehow always seem to taste better than shop bought, especially when yiu have the really tasty thick peel bits. Any chance you could still get the flavour of it by having it whizzed up in some so...

Dear OH

I have deliberately held off posting in the hope that I might think of something to say which isn't at my normal anal level.

Never mind being daunting taking one on, they will soon learn its daunting maintaining one at times. But oh so satisfying

Re: January Jobs?

As some may have seen by the post I made elsewhere I have been studying seed catalogues. Finding it far far too cold around chest to venture out much, despite thermal layers Have ventured out a couple of times to make our selection of seed potatoes. Ordered 2 bags shallots from Wilko as a experiment...

Re: Mid Winter Bits and Bobs.

OH , I think your point is very valid, and could be said to be proved by the number of community allotment projects one does hear about. However, there are many councils / associations which avoid involvement which is surprising in areas where ground stands fallow for years on end getting overgrown...

Without getting side-tracked from the subject,

Pa Snip has a whinge.

To me the very term 'raised bed' infers that something, maybe made of wood or bricks, is built up from ground level in which to contain soil at a height greater than that at the ground...

Re: Out of date seeds

Welcome aboard Alison

Our conclusion is that saving outdated seeds is just not worth the effort. Have experienced too many failures for the sake of a quid or two,
Parsnips are a prime example, since buying quality new seed each year we get better germination and success.
