I've been having another housework day...I keep looking at the clutter...and then go to work, gardening... ..but then I really needed a new mattress and have been pondering and researching....today though I made the purchase and that has then driven the room tidy and also the delivery route clearing...

I got another 5ft strip of digging done today whilst yesterday I weeded the two narrow strips of border by the front gateway. These are home to pink hyacinth on one side and a red species tulip on the other..my dear old mum would despair if she knew the state I had let these run to...but I caught th...

I'll post this then to see. Made me smile as I once had a 'post' arrive in the post...it was an up stop stay for one of the Church bells. One had got broken and the bell company cut some timber to length, taped on an address label stuck some stamps onto the timber and posted it parcel post. I fitted...

Had a conversation today at work about bulb Lachenalia aloides..the Cape cowslip. My mother had some that I suspect came from her cousin over in Leicestershire, 'Uncle Tom'...kept them for years but now sadly lost and I can't seem to see any just as these were. Did you see the moon this morning.?? As I stepped out the back door about 7am I caught sight of a curved sliver of red on the horizon out to the ESE, or therabouts...tried to make it a vapour trail heading over the horizon..but then quickly realised it was a sliver of moon showing...rising quite rap...

We have often wondered how much weight is on a nearby Church roof. On the North side it is totally moss covered to quite a thickness, the weight of which when holding water, like at the moment, must be quite considerable. ..what I hadn't done in my keeness was to check the forecast....now I see 8hrs of rain billed for overnight.!!

...only a few spots of rain today before work time and then sunshine at times....and light enough to be working outside 'til about 4:10pm.

I was working from a hover board though. ..well, a series of former scaffold boards cut to size, to allow non wallow in mud access to a wall rose.

We had the potting shed floor washed and tested the water pump all in one seamless move...
With the rain today the total for the week so far is 2 inches.

I should add that my ref to half inch of rain today was a, so far, up to last check at 3pm....it has continued solidly since then and it still is persisting... I can vouch for that as my clothes drier resides in the old coalhouse ie; out the back door, left and left again..
