Re: A P(l)otted History
I believe our areas waiting list has now reduced from 7 years to 2. I would imagine a lot of people just got fed up with waiting. Went to the plot yesterday, wasn't a good start to the day. Was trying to get a rotavator to start after 5 months inactivity, whilst fiddling with that I looked across th...

Re: 2015 Springing Bits and Summer Bobs
All my seed potatoes are sitting in egg trays as well MW Looked back at last years records and saw that my first early's all went in on 3rd April. First plant (just one) I dug out was International Kidney on 17th June followed by one plant of Lady Cristl on 21st June. The rest of those two varieties...

Re: A P(l)otted History
My neighbour with the greenhouse was up the plot yesterday. I was going to try and tackle the subject of the greenhouse roof overhang.
TBH, I then decided I really wasn't in the right frame of mind to try tackle the issue.

Second person this morning who has mentioned planting first earlies today. I'm going to hold off still as tempting as it is.

Re: In the bleak Mid Winter, Bits and Bobs...
Just left a glowing mound of embers, always enjoyable a good bonfire. And if you are like me you get mesmerised by the flames and then those glowing embers, stand there for ages watching and in process justify my lack of other action by telling myself I am making sure it stays under control. Even t...

Robo
I assume your plot is rented from the council.
I do tend to wonder if they are not somewhat leaving themselves wide open to litigation if they were not prepared to remove asbestos previously dumped on land they own before letting it to you.

Re: In the bleak Mid Winter, Bits and Bobs...
When I opened the shed door on the plot this afternoon the internal temperature was reading 24 degrees.
As I have put a film on the glass windows to make it opaque I am now thinking ' Hmmmm poor mans summer sauna' could be on the cards

Re: A P(l)otted History
Richard and Shallot Man A word of thanks. Today I arrived on the plot at 9.05am, spent 4 hours digging. By 1:05pm felt cream crackered and came home. Had a cuppa, a sandwich and a kip whilst ostensibly watching an old B& W movie on tv. Woke up to find film had ended so viewed this forum just af...

Re: A P(l)otted History
Hi Shallot Man If our site is anything to go by, some seem mildly surprised it hasn't already been dug over for them. Well now, lets put the cat amongst the pigeons. Perhaps plots should be ready dug over when taken on, and with the exception of extenuating circumstances should be handed back in the...
