You're not the person that does those garden make-over programmes in a day are you. No, thank goodness! It's taken 6 months of steady clearing to get this far (and 13 trips to the local dump to dispose of all the stuff I couldn't use); still a bit to do yet, but this weather keeps getting in the wa...

I was given 3 by my OH last year, and have to say I'm not over impressed. The end pieces are very flimsy and keep popping out! On one of them, the corrigated plastic also pops out despite repeated attempts to keep it in place. They do stay put in the ground well though. They are just a bit too small...

I once wrote and complained to ? Cross & Blackwell about their Branston Pickle jars: I nearly broke a wrist trying to open one!

They have apologised, and it may be my imagination, but they are easier to open these days!!!

I also was taught Imperial measurements, and had to swop to metric mid school. What is interesting is that everyone I have come across in the last 22 years as a midwife, (with the exception of those born in Europe) wants to know their baby's weight in pounds. We always weigh them in kilos, and get b...

Hot bed link

Someone offered this great hotbed link earlier this year (apologies, can't remember who), I'm very tempted to have a go this year!

I'm suprised it's a self assembly pathway, I would have thought it would have been ready assembled at least! What you have described really doesn't sound right/any good at all. Can you contact the manufacturer/shop for a refund/explaination? It does not sound it has been sold 'fit for purpose' at th...

I'm with you JB on the Maris Piper front! I grew my potatoes in pots this year (will be able to try them for the first time on the allotment next year, so very interested in any recommendations!) I got some Maris Piper tubers from someone offering them on Freecycle this year, and had some super tast...

I purchased quite a few tomatoes and peppers from POD this year, but to be honest, I would not grow more than two thirds of the tomato varieties I chose again! Still, it was good experimenting! The peppers were much more of a success, and I've still got some of the original seed and will grow all ag...
