Re: A view of my garden

Things are slowly growing and with overnight temperatures rising I hope I can get some tender plants growing in here soon, saw our first House Martin flying over the garden, so I hope that is a good sign.

Re: 2020 Spring Bits & Bobs

I've cut the grass today, but main gardening task at the moment is watering, at least things are growing, tatties just peeping through, so I've pulled more soil on them as there may be another frost tonight. Peas are also appearing outside along with some carrots and radishes. In the greenhouse ther...

Re: Best new use for an old sink?

I think I'd get more use from this on an allotment, do you have a shed? If so, fitted in there with a waste pipe out side it could be used to wash veg/cups/hands, you can even get eco washing stuff, you just take a bottle of water with you.

Re: 2020 Spring Bits & Bobs

Afternoon all, we have cool and cloudy today and still very dry, no rain for weeks so the hose has been in use. The early sown carrots and peas in the greenhouse border are growing well, whether they will be ready before the close by Sweet Corn swamps them may be another story. Strawberries in the g...

Re: Temptation!

I have some tender plants in my "halfway house" a plastic "blowaway " greenhouse inside the unheated greenhouse, they are surviving in there this far north just now.

Re: 2020 Spring Bits & Bobs

As regards foods causing problems, I had a single large kidney stone lasered a few years ago and the list of food to minimise is surprisingly large! One favourite was cranberries or cranberry juice. I used when younger to consume a fair amount of milk, just cannot nowadays as it triggers my IBS. I ...

Re: Very early Spring Bits and Bobs.

Morning Tigerburnie, I find it very interesting what you said about the Rhubarb and your arthritic joints. I have been suffering badly, on and off, with arthritic joints, and I wondered if certain foods could make it worse but, when I mentioned that to the Dr, he didn't think so...I wasn't convince...

Re: Very early Spring Bits and Bobs.

I love rhubub used to make wine with it too, can't have it now as it plays havoc with the arthritic joints sadly.

Re: A view of my garden

Been busy in the greenhouse, added some manure where the tomatoes will be growing and then added the grow rings and cane supports, you can also see the French strawberries in the pots. DSC02685.JPG I have also grown some peas in root trainers and have planted those inside the greenhouse to try and g...
