Re: This is what I picked today

Thank you Monika yes I agree it is what allotments are about and even after fifteen years I still get a thrill from picking veggies and bringing it home and cooking. I love sowing seeds and transplanting them, my other half gets the joy !!! of planting out into the ground (something I dont really li...

Re: This is what I picked today

Thank you for the lovely comments. Today I made a veggie bake with some of the caulis, broccoli, carrots, onions, courgettes (very last of) , leeks and a cheesy sauce with added dijon mustard, low fat cheese, herbs. I will top it with breadcrumbs and a bit of Parmesan cheese when we eat it. Made eig...

This is what I picked today

picked veggies.jpg Today I went up to our allotment and picked a little bit of everything. We still have quite alot to pick yet. The caulis and broccoli are late sowings and next year (if possible) I will do the same. This year it has worked for us. We still have half a dozen broccoli heads to pick...

Re: Pa snip Information on Plot Cost size etc.

There doesn't seem to be any plot on the site that is a particular size. They all seems to be different shapes and sizes. Ours seems a nice shape looking at some of the others.

Re: Define 'Working the Plot'

There is an allotment within driving distance but they, supposedly, have a waiting list. It is only a small allotment area but each plot is quite large. There is one which is just grassed over and no one is working it, but when I enquired about it I was told that that particular plot had been held f...

Re: Define 'Working the Plot'

We are having terrible problems with our allotments but I am loath to put anything on here in writing as I fear a backlash. If only I could. I did write some time ago that I was thinking of giving up after 15 years because of all the problems. I am still considering it. There is no use going to the ...
