Mine are now established in the bed, have picked off the dead leaves and have a nice green centre to the plants, with one or two lil flowers, so not too worried now.

I think it is the issue of violation that is most irritating, especially when most sites run on trust and good will etc, put razor blades in the ground on top of the spuds, that would put him off!! Seriously not a good idea though, because of the risks. I just think it is sad, and would want to give...

I must be a freak of nature! Watched both games tonight, watered the lottie, weeded a bit, listen radio 5 whilst I garden, so do the plants!! So I am an enigma I guess, aged 47 I have gardened for forty years with my parents and on my own and have always loved the sight of freshly tilled earth, rows...

Do you not collect any water in old baths, water butts, or have guttering off shed room Chantal?? Saying that I reckon three normal water butts last a week durint this dry spell. So it is not the complete answer but it sure helps.

COURGETTE PROBLEMS

Having not grown courgettes before, I have now planted them out in raised beds, they don't look too great, the centre stem of the plant has fresh growth on it but the bigger outer leaves are looking yellow and wilted, they are in a raised bed with a lot of very well rotted compost and soil. Is this ...

EGGS???

Whilst potting on my cucumber plants tonight, I discovered some white eggs, similar size as those polystyrene beads in bean bags (They were in the bottom of the module and had been propagated in the greenhouse) I destroyed them, any idea what they were? Should I take precautions in the greenhouse?

I must admit most of my cabbages end up with kinked stems, seems to make little difference, but then again mine don't usually get as far as the solid heart stage...........I prefer a looser heart. Better advice, Carrie, might be to go to a garden centre or nursery and buy bare root plants, which app...

Mine came from a local timber / recycling yard, if used to contain aircraft de-icer but came with a certified clean certificate, cost me a fiver, got several linked up as water butts, you can cut the lid off with an ordinary saw and buy a water butt tap from good hardware shops.

I personally would avoid any chemicals, but hey I would say thi...
