Hi there.
My cherry toms still have plenty of fruit on them but they the plants are not really growing. I'm just wondering, at this point do I still need to feeding them?
Also, what about chillis and sweet pepers?

Re: propane gas heaters
Interesting. I do have a car battery in the tunnel which I do use for various things. Powering a fan might be an option. I guess it does not have to be anything special, just something to encourage the air to move around.

Re: propane gas heaters
The polytunnel is 14 ft x 25, but I was thinking of making a heated area near the front door (separated off with bubble wrap) that is perhaps 14 ft x 6 ft.
I don't like the idea of paraffin due to the condensation and possibility of blackening the sheet. Electric is not available.
Thanks

Re: propane gas heaters
I'm starting to think about a possible Christmas present: a gas heater for the polytunnel. I've noticed at 2kw heat (with pipe work and connectors) for £80 and I am tempted. It's call a 'lifestyle Eden'. The main think that I'm not sure of is how much gas I'm going to use. Anyone got any advice on t...

Re: Heat vs light?
Today I've covered it in fleece and I've moved a water butt right next to it (north side), which will hopefully take the edge of the evening temperatures. I'm assuming that at this point I should just remove any small fruit as they don't stand a chance. Should I also remove any flowers?

Heat vs light?
So, this year I decided I'd try grow a water melon. At this point, they are about as big as an orange, and I'm wondering what to do to before they are a complete write off. I'm wondering....what is more important, heat or light? I guess it's probably both...but it you have to choose...what do you th...

Re: Rotation
Thanks for the comments. I guess I had though that you pick a bed and use that for a given family of veg for a year, where as I think you're all suggesting that it's better to think about it as succession.

Re: WORMERY ANYONE ?
I got my worms in June and started them off using some compost out of my normal compost bin and they seem to be happy (or at least I can still see worms in there).

Rotation
Hi there, I still question about crop rotation. I'm looking at planting some autumn planting onion / shallots and I'm wondering if I should plant them in the same place where I've had my spring planted onions (which have just or more less finished). What do others do? Should I use a different bed? N...

Re: Sweet potatos and crop rotation
I had not considered growing them as as a perennial. I could do something similar to what you are suggesting (except mine are already indoors). Do you think I should move them in the 2nd year, for rotation purposes, assuming they survive?

They are in a polytunnel. I started picking them about 3 weeks ago.

Re: Green beans - what are they?
I tried 'Cobra' as suggested. I have more beans that I could possibly imagine. They seem good to me!

This last week, mine have just started growing. Maybe it's the temperature.
