Incidentally I know we're all being encouraged to try and give up plastic but I noticed yiur strawberries in punnets and couldn,t help thinking how useful these containers are to we gardeners. I keep a stock of them and find them so useful for sowing and growing small quantities of different seedli...

Hundreds of French Beans (Dwarf did better than Climbers)
Scores of courgettes.
Hundreds of Tomatoes (Mainly Cherry, but plenty of bigger) No blight !

Sutton Seeds are advertising this variety as good for freezing.
I've never been able to freeze courgettes (without cooking).
Has anyone tried these?

i ve got a cotton hat thats got a zipped pocket in the side , just big enough to take a couple of keys...handy if youre not wearing anything else with pockets, keeps rain and sun off as well.

Ron, I would harvest one or two and see what they look like. Planted Oct should be ready around now. I thought you had to wait until all the leaves went brown.
Mine are mostly lying on their sides due to the recent strong winds, only the outer leaves have gone brown.
They were planted in October, should I harvest now or wait for the other leaves to go brown?
