Re: I love most vegetables, but I just can't stand.....

Celeriac.... shudder Celery..... cringe Not too keen on swede or turnip on their own but in stews and casseroles etc,. I don't mind it. I love young, tender Runner beans and my very favourite vegetables are Brussels Sprouts. I'll eat most anything else really. Ah, yes celery. Absolutely detest that...

Raw tomatoes do not do it for me either. I wish I liked them, but I just cannot abide the taste! Not overly keen on courgettes, I use them as a filler to bulk up other things.

Not sure about Bertha! I have an outdoor craft fair tomorrow, so I have my fingers crossed, but I'm not too hopeful!

Re: Who writes a blog?

try blogspot.com or blogger.com, there are lots of blog templates out there :) I have one for my soap business, but I am so busy, I rarely add to it, I don't think I've been on there for nealry 6 months, probably longer!

Re: Blossom end rot?

found a couple with BER yesterday. re: regular watering, my allotment is 10 minute drive away, and I work full time, so watering every day is not practical or possible, although when it is really hot, we do try!

Re: Mid Summer Bits and Bobs.

No rain for us, although it was forecast. It is quite blowy however, and there have been lots of heavy dark clouds rolling over.

Re: Blossom end rot?

no OH, they are in the greenhouse border.

we always get BER, tried Roma, San Marzano (variations of SM), Scattalone, etc etc, all got it.

I use a lot of plum tomatoes for cooking - I like to jar lots of sauces to last me through the year - as the only person to eat them raw is my dad!
