Moroccan Lamb (or Chickenwith tomatoes, almonds and apricots

Please do try this recipe with different meats as it is amazing I have made it today with a chicken and it was fabulous. It is my OH's favourite marinade. We got the recipe from a Sainsburys Booklet. Moroccan Lamb with tomatoes, almonds and apricots 5 shallots peeled and sliced 12 cherry tomatoes 1 ...

Re: Red onions

I love red onions but I have a hiatus hernia and cannot eat raw onions red or other, or iceberg lettuce. If I take my tablets before I eat red onions I don't have such a bad reaction. But cannot eat iceberg, tablets or no tablets. We have grown red and white onions this year and they are looking qui...

Re: Oops

Actually I am secretly glad as I have never like this hob. We had a Neff induction originally and a circuit blew which would cost about £180 to replace, the hob was 10 years old so we didn't think that it would last so we got a new one (not a Neff) as a temporary measure as we did think we would be ...

Oops

Off to work this morning and my OH rang me on the mobile to say he had had an accident. I was about to return home thinking the worst, only to find that he had dropped a bottle of pickle on the edge of the glass on our induction hob and broken it. :( One ring not working now. that is the Oops

Re: Morrisons Feta Cheese

My scales are digital I just assumed that they are accurate as I cook using these scales every day. We bought a packet of Patras feta and that weight 200g unpacked which is exactly what the packet said.

Re: This year - last year

Hi Monika Our carrots have been very slow to germinate but are getting going now. Our peas are slightly quicker to germinate and now we have had quite a good supply. Last year nothing. Courgettes started really well but have slowed down this last few days. Caulis have been fabulous and cabbages also...

Re: Morrisons Feta Cheese

Hi Primrose. I think that is my next step as I purchased another packet of Feta for my warm broad bean, feta cheese and tomato salad. They only had their own brand on the shelf so I had no choice. Unpacked weight was 193g - opened and drained weight 183g so nothing so far has changed. This time I to...

Re: Broad beans and cauliflowers

WHR I do sow in succession, this year I sowed these 10 seeds, not expecting them all to come up. But they did and I have a problem with throwing seedlings away So I put them all in, closer than the recommended spacings and then sowed some more of a different type of cauli. These are coming ready at ...

Re: Morrisons Feta Cheese

Update. I received a £10 voucher from Morrisons as a "buy off" probably to keep quiet as to the discrepancy on the weight of the cheese. So today, three weeks after I complained, I purchased another pack of Morrisons feta cheese Unopened pack 193g and opened 183g cheese this time I think I...

Re: In celebration of tomatoes!

Alan, we do a similar recipe for our breakfast but add balsamic vinegar and a pinch of brown sugar and put it on brown bread toast. Tonight I made tomatoes with feta and broad beans. Cut toms in half and start to fry gently in olive oil till starting to break down then add cooked broad beans and cub...

Broad beans and cauliflowers

Today I picked 3.5 kg broad beans before shelling and had 790g beans. I have also picked 10 cauliflowers heads which are all ready at the same time, they are F1 seeds. Next year I won't be sowing F1 seeds because I didn't realise that they will all be ready at the same time, silly me. I want them re...

Re: Courgette Recipes

I've got a recipe for courgette and chocolate cake and when I made in a couple of years ago (we don't eat cake normally but were expecting visitors) I didn't tell them what it was made from until after they had all eaten it and said it was fabulous.

Re: Morrisons Feta Cheese

Westi, I have become more irritated the more I have to shop in some supermarkets the one named above is top of the list. They price things differently sometimes showing price per kg next to something at price per 100g. I don't want to have to do a calculation everytime I want to see if something is ...

Re: Morrisons Feta Cheese

I thought I had posted a reply to OH and I have just seen that it isn't there. Don't know where it has gone. So I will put it on again. I am sorry OH but I just read your reply to my reply to you and realised that I sound very frosty I am sorry I didn't mean to. I am looking after someone elses plot...
