Remind me what it stands for again, and I'll cue her up to have a second pop at you on New Years' Eve...! Did she draw blood?

Do you want help blowing up the balloons, or is it all under control there?

Christmas Dinner

Trousers is doing his moorish Chicken Liver Pate with an Oxford Sauce and Melba Toast.... and I'm doing the Cranberry Relish and the Bread Sauce, and the entire rest of the Christmas Dinner is in the hands of the lovely Piglets. I think there's a Turkey in there somewhere amongst all the other delic...

Cranberry & Grand Marnier Relish

This is a recipe I rate very highly indeed.... It's superb with the roast Turkey on Christmas Day, and just as superb with cold meats thereafter. Put 500g fresh cranberries in a non-reactive pan with 150g light muscovado sugar and grate in a 2cm cube of fresh ginger. Break a cinnamon stick into 2 pi...

Hi OH ! I took delivery of a tonne of barn-dried hardwood logs yesterday lunchtime, and paid £50. They're SO clean, there's not even a cobweb on them. I'm dead impressed with the quality, and the quantity for the price (no inuendos intended...), and seeing as Trousers has got his Gout back again, I ...

Sue, I hope you don't mind.....

I just wanted to encourage. The Piglets came to stay this weekend, and brought a GINORMOUS wreath, which I'm tempted to put on the double doors of my 'grown-up-girls' greenhouse it's so huge (!) I'm a great 'believer' in having a go and letting your own creativity excel. Sometimes you can surprise y...

Here in rural Gloucestershire....

Sue, I 'feel for you' I DO.... and I'm really pleased that you're ok. When we moved here from Buckinghamshire, I couldn't BELIEVE the awful driving. WAY too fast, and on MY side of the road. People still drive 'at' me, six years later, and why am I surprised ?! Exactly WHAT are these Foresters 'like...

Nagging? .... Moi?

Trousers honey - there IS a 'puter here in the depths of the countryside, I'm not in space you know. And before you answer that, yes, I DO know that you wish I was.... Thought you'd got away with that one ditn't you ? Leave the Chateau Neuf to Peeps alone darling, and remember to feed the cat, eh? M...

It all comes down to choice, affordability, and being 'sensible' I reckon... Certainly I'd hate my kitchen garden to look like the inside of a skip, because it's right outside my kitchen door and I have to look at that over my cornflakes, and friends who visit have to an' all !! In such a setting, j...

Oh NO! We're going to a party ! Never mind, Trousers and I will turn up and break the ice at Peter's Party here 'early doors', which let's face it, no-one wants to be the first to spill red wine on the carpet, do they?! (Cream you say, Peter, uh huh)... Then when we've eaten a few cheese straws and ...

Hi JB, Yes, Over Farm Market is just 'our' side of Gloucester, and they have their own Butchers within the Farm Shop now. Trousers and I were there only a few weeks ago 'to kill some time' before an appointment, and I did notice they're stocking Ostrich, you clever man you ! I haven't seen Ostrich i...

OH, Trousers and I got Roast Turkey, Juniper Gravy with Apple & Lemon Puree cooked for us earlier this year, which was simply out of this world, and I will certainly be doing that again for some unsuspecting guests of our own, when I've saved up enough to buy a goose ! Peter, Ostrich Steak I've ...
