Re: Fig tree for patio
Hard to kill them for sure. Mine is in a big plastic urn type pot, When i wanted to move it I found it had grown a single huge root through the hole in the bottom. I had no choice but to move so sawed it through thinking it's a goner but survive it did. It has really tiny fruit right in the branch j...

Re: Tourette's.
How's it going with Sam OH? Thought of him today as met someone with it. He was a carer for a learning disabilities lad I was checking on. We bonded, he was open & told me he had it, but it was obvious, so I followed the advice given & asked him what it was like, what's the best treatment he...

Re: Fig tree for patio
Monty wrote an article in the weekend mag in the Mail a few weeks ago and said you take off anything bigger than your little fingernail as they won't make. Anything smaller than this are next years crop apparently. I've read that before somewhere as well but wonder why the little teeny ones don't su...

Good one Pa!
Haven't a clue what happened there as the right way up in photos! Always photos that show me up, got to admit I'm consistent though!

Re: SMART METER
I read my meter each month & send them the numbers - none of that "estimated". I love getting the response which basically means "You kidding us"! We did the kitchen up & changed to an electric oven from a gas one - boy did they get confused! Kept sending the polite notic...

Robo - your on fine form!
Pa you never know! Wonder what a tenacious tastes like? Sounds like a good name for a variety of some sort - I vote one of those really prickly blackberries - any other suggestions?

Re: Raised Beds, sometimes I'm baffled
I don't have any raised beds, just a wooden surround around the strawberries that is going on the fire after the woodlice this year. I probably do technically have the old fashioned style though as when I put an area to bed for the winter I put compost and muck on all of it before I cover it, includ...

This is Princess Penguin! 12 weeks old on Thursday but as I have the Mummy, been mine from birth. We lost our Birman in Summer, so decided to keep a kitten! Her Mummy has a waiting list for kittens but is also a 'nipple donor' to rescued kittens, well some years anyway as the time window is tiny to ...

See Pa - keep the faith in all things!
Wonder if it will give you blossom & fruit next year? Fingers crossed. You've got it this far; trust you to have a tenacious tree with the same fighting spirit as you. I reckon you should give it a bit of TLC for it's efforts!

Re: Very early Winter Bits and Bobs.2016
Pa - i do love a search, but I have an erratic brain & never find the answer I wanted as I get distracted all the time & go off in a tangent and waste quite a bit of time. Example, if I wanted to search Pawty's wonderful honey I'd be on DIY bee hive weaving course in no time at all! Also agr...
