what wonderful stories! my own day was nearly 4 years ago. i made my dress and as much else as I could - candles etc. the only real expense was the food and drink. it was in a hotel, which was part of the deal if you bought the food. I ended up not liking the dress (after spending so long making it!)

I used to watch a lot of the Dakar rallies years ago, I now mostly concentrate on the motogp series, as I am usually short of time, there's only so much motorsport one can keep up with, especially when my dh really does not enjoy it at all!

I have mahonia and fatsia shrubs flowering at the moment. shame I can't get my garrya eliptica to flower, in the 15 years I've been growing it, it has only once ever put on a rather pathetic display of about 3 tassels!
