Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

Yesterday was depressing and dark. Grey with rain once again....however, having spread some riddled soil on a turf repair I had got some grass seed on just as the steady straight down rain commenced,...enough to wash it in without washing it away thankfully....so just maybe for once that was spot on...

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

Back to rain today.... Pleased now that I grabbed the moment yesterday and dragged the big Wolf 3 tine cultivator through a line of dug ground so it could dry in the sun and east wind to enable me to quickly push in a double row of Bunyard's Exhibition broad beans. The ground by afternoon was just w...

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

Dare I admit that I managed to get four short rows of Casablanca potatoes in this afternoon. On some lightly sloped ground in front of the big north wall..

Good to have some dry at last...courtesy of the East wind....blooming cold in it but gorgeous out of it..in the sunshine..

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

So once again I said to myself, I'm not going to buy any seed potatoes..... .......what happened... Down the garden centre car park to partake of the car wash service, to be all sorted and clean for mot test...two new tyres yesterday and a tracking check too. What do I do...I wander into the garden ...

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

Looks like we are going to get some much needed rain tomorrow….🙂 Just in case we had forgotten what rain looks like.... ;) I did some turf repairs yesterday and after dusting a little riddled soil over the patched turf, I joked...that we'll need a bit of rain now to wash it in.... so you can blame ...

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

Suspect not resistor type, thinking of how it might have been generally at that time when Big Bertha was a young-un... it's not though a device i had any dealings with back in the day. There is a sort of distant dream to make one bedroom a hobby room...then some Hornby Dublo with its three rail tinp...

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

I certainly miss PSB it was a staple via a few varieties but not at the moment due to reality of trying to keep things muddling along best I can. Yours will have rather less air miles than that on the shop shelf...which I look at but won't buy.. Got a few little jobs done in the big garden this, and...

I can find every sort of Swish glider types, in the box found on the box room top shelf, but can't find the old fashioned hooks...for this curtain track that isn't Swish...

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

I always say that snowdrops are more reliable to time than anything else in the garden year so are at the peak of flowering mid Feb, come what may. They were, well maybe a day or two up, but I would agree they do seem to be going over quickly but the rate of growth on the daffodil, primroses and the...

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

Not so sunny out east here...but it was there at times. :) Certainly warm, with dry roads tonight. Potting shed floor very damp from flooding on Sunday morning. It was repotting day for the regal pelargoniums today.. ..and the forecast for overnight....includes 8 hrs of rain...at 80 to 95% chance.. ...

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

We were on herbaceous potting today...after a load more rain overnight.. ...and I've just checked the forecast...there's more rain overnight tonight...maybe shouldn't be surprised as it's February Fill Dyke....but it's already full.. ....Treated Skoda to some new wipers from the autoparts shop in th...

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

Half inch of rain (sleet at first) yesterday by home time with another inch overnight and it made it up to 1.7" today, although it seemed wetter out in it . The old boiler house has filled up again so its just under potting shed floor level. Steeping River is to the top and adjacent farmland is...

Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

Hello Robo, My purchase was from Mattressonline.co.uk and was the Sleepeezee, Perfectly British Strand 1400 Pocket Mattress which is classed as Medium-Firm. I did a lot of pondering and researching round the websites as there are hundreds of choices and many suppliers. I tend to be brand loyal and t...
