Re: Easy peeling garlic

Excellent tip Chantal, must remember that! Also if you microwave your squash / pumpkin chunk for a bit it makes them easier to peel, just heats below the skin and softens it slightly so you don't have to worry about the knife slipping!

OH

Is that thinking about saving the planet, how your going to do in your quantum physics exam, creating a cure for all ills - or whether that fox outfit will really fool OC?

We probably had that little beauty come through here first! Traffic news on the radio extra long reporting trees down in a wide area! All fine around here though, but was a tad breezy!

Re: Welcome Grow It Readers!

I did look on the Grow It site & they don't have a forum as such so maybe a real BIG obvious plug in the next edition? (Although I do appreciate we got a mention in this one)

Replacing Raspberries

What is the life span roughly of raspberries that they will remain productive? I've had my plot 12 years this year and they were there when I took it over. They do crop well but are becoming a little sparse in places & the summer & autumn ones are all mixed up. I'd also like to move it as th...

Re: A new type of sprout. - or had they blown.

I believe it is meant to be that way - saw a description of these in one of the seed catalogues. Thought about it but didn't buy them this time - decided to go the traditional sprout & kale route instead. What was the price like in comparison? I think these seed were fairly expensive as well. We...

Richard - your plot looks fab! I have quite a bit of mildew on my leafy crops, some toe rag has nicked my sprouts - BUT my caulis are well grand!

Obviously my thieves are selective - thankfully!

Re: Swiss Chard and Green Bean Soup - Recipe

Glad you resurrected this - my Swiss chard got a bit of mildew & was looking sad but now got new growth due to mild weather so got rid of the worst of the bad leaves & had a wonderful clean harvest - will have to buy the beans though! :(
