Hello Zena, as long as it's been mixed with straw, and is well rotted any sort of manure is good. Sheep manure also makes a good liquid manure, just lob some in a hessian sack, chuck it in a butt of water, give it a stir until the colour of weak tea, and away you go. Dear Malk, glad i live where i do if the weathers like that up there at the moment, i really must get up to Scotland one day to see that amazing scenery, not sure what the folk up there would make of me. Good morning Mike, i agree with Allan on both points here, i think some of these poor winter crops are due to the earlier dry conditions. And as for seed, i can't say i have ever noticed any lack of vigour because of the seed being old, the only trouble i have come across with old seed is bad germin...
