Compo, if you want to leave Tiscali, be prepared for approximately 8 weeks without internet access. We cancelled in May and weren't back online with our new supplier until August. Tiscali are very good whilst you are a customer, trying not to be a customer is a total nightmare.Be prepared for confli...

Plant out 30cm (12in) apart in rows 40-45cm (16-18in) apart making sure not to bury the crown - the stem base should be at soil level. ...

I'm bumping this thread as I've had the exact same problem. I can't believe they haven't had enough water this year, after the horrendous "summer", and are planted in newly made compost. Any ideas ?

Thanks for your reply PLUMPUDDING. I don't have a conservatory, so it will either be a unheated poly tunnel (currently with both ends open, but it's quite long, so I'm hoping the frost won't get in too far), an unheated greenhouse, or I can put it on a windowsill indoors (more heat but restricted l...

[quote="Chantal"]Hi Lez I had to do this with passata bottles as they were too big to submerge, so did it with kilner jars too. Filled my maslin pan half full of water. Hand tightened the lids and stood the jars on a trivit to keep off the direct heat and put a dishcloth between the jars. ...

Today, I have been storing beetroot in a big plastic bucket. First, roughly wash the beetroot to remove excess soil, bugs etc. Then twist off the tops, leave the roots and layer in damp compost or sand. Make sure that the container is firmly covered to prevent mice or squirrels gaining access, and ...

Storing Raw Beetroot

I've got some beetroot which is taking up space and the leaves appear to be dying off. If I lift them can I store them in bags of old compost? I don't want to cook them yet.

Insulation for the colder months. Not having a GH, I've no idea if the extra warmth is worth the loss of light. Hopefully someone will soon advise.
