Wow! Your celery is amazing - mine never gets as long (I call it mini), and is always quite pale & stringy!
Another envy to add to the rest methinks!

Totally Diane! Never learnt so much as I have after I left school! My healthy ageing one says continuous learning creates new pathways in the brain which will help outfox the dementia process. Post Mortem's have shown people who functioned brilliantly showed that they were actually ravaged by dement...

Re: A moments thought
This tragedy did not reach where I was in Australia, so the first time I had heard about it was the following year I moved to the UK! I couldn't believe it was allowed to happen, couldn't believe the death toll, couldn't believe the efforts the rescuers made, couldn't believe the dignity of those th...

Blimey Geoff!
You must post a pic of your trees next year when full of fruit, especially now as the size fluffing around is gone - it's quicker too! Apple fritters - yum!

Re: Tomatillo success
Ah Fred! I posted the same when I had success with my blight resistant toms. Firstly you take the seeds into a jar and cover them with water & leave until you get a green blob thing on the top. Then you rinse and drain and the tomato membrane washes off the seeds, which you dry on paper towel. N...

Re: Cloggies or "back door" shoes
I tend to buy cheap trainers with velcro straps, but the thing I find is the flap over the front of the shoes becomes detached as I'm kneeling mostly weeding. I get a couple of years out of them, as even though it detaches they remain waterproof for a bit after this.

Hi Pawty! I don't prune mine, but have observed that they grow brilliantly when hacked down, although no fruit for awhile. On the way to the beach there was a huge one in front of these 3 story flats, they hacked it down last year to about a 2 foot stump. Already it is about 6 foot tall and there wa...

Hi Dave! Just ask away! We were once in the same position as you - and isn't it a relaxer as well as a challenge? I've got an allotment & they let certain folk drop their animal waste on the site. If you've got the means to buy it that is exactly what the garden centre sells, already processed! ...

Can I say this is the appropriate forum to take the gloves off - as agreed (kind of)! General Chat is indeed that, but let's keep it civil! To date everyone is doing that, but is it not time to move on? We have new interest from others, engagement from the KG team, & we have two forum members wh...
