Re: Dorset Coastal
I'm in South Dorset too and have two rhubarb clumps for years.. They grow really well in spite of being in a south facing garden. As for frost, usually from the first week in May is safe.

Re: Planting ideas please
Absolutely - in different pots. Should have mentioned that. You could also put them in unusual pots - adding to the interest.
I know that chard, carrots, turnips, rhubarb, brassicas, beetroot, salad leaves and quite a few others will cope with some shade.

Sunshine corner
No sun in the sky today so I've made a 'Sunshine Corner' in the garden instead.

Re: Mid Winter Bits and Bobs.
It's blown the scaffolding boards off the erection on our house. Mighty bangs and thuds on the roof all night, very scary but too dark to see what was happening - thought the chimney had finally come down (which is why the scaffolding is up). Much drama. One board narrowly missed the neighbours car....

Down and Dirty.
I was reading a very interesting article recently (well several really) about how getting your hands dirty whilst working in the garden makes you happy and realised that this is so true for myself. After a session of weeding and generally mucking about in the garden yesterday I looked at my filthy h...

Re: Please can we have some more 'funnies'?
I was busy in my garden and the neighbour said, "What are you doing?"
I said, "I'm putting all my plants in alphabetical order."
She replied, "Really? I don't know how you find the time."
"Oh that's easy," I said. "It's right next to the sage!"
