Re: How to stop your nuisance calls

Hello Catherine
Sounds interesting.
How do you watch catch up of CH4 programmes. Do they have their own 'IPlayer' - can't find anything on my TV.
Thanks

Re: Gardening catalogues

Agree with you Monika about DT Brown. They are hard to beat and the service is excellent. Tuckers is another catalogue I look forward too. Huge selection and excellent quality seeds.

Re: Gardening catalogues

Haven't had any catalogues yet - strangely they always seem to turn up on Monday mornings. Is is cheaper to send them out over the weekend perhaps.
Winter is certainly coming as our local supermarket now has shelves stocked with chrissy puds, mincemeat and so on.
Must go and order the turkey!

Re: Dead rat!!!

Hello Catherine
Hope you've finished your tea and are sitting comfortably.
After the smell goes you are very likely to be badly pestered by flies for a few days as they emerge from the maggots that have been on the remains.
Sorry about this.

Re: Windows 10

Thanks for your replies everyone.
I think I'll hang on for the moment as suggested and wait till the dust and a few bugs have been sorted out before I attempt an upgrade.

Re: Reporting posts

Oops
Looks like we've had quite a few visitors during the night.
Anyone know where I can get some men's shoes?
Must have crept in under the Peter radar.

Windows 10

Nothing to do with gardening but I know a few of you are experienced computer types. My machine tells me that my 10 upgrade has arrived. Have any of you tried to install yours yet. I'm always very wary of tinkering with computer things - always afraid the whole is going to hang up and freeze and not...

Hello PA
That's a really good crop of pots - just love your amazing fork.
Is it a tarmac fork?

Same here.
Blackfly everywhere and not a ladybird to be seen.

It's also very annoying that the 'sow by' dates are usually printed on the opening flap. Unless you open very carefully the dates become unreadable.

Petrol cans

I have several different petrol cans but none of them are any good. The caps are a simple screw fit and rely on me remembering to tighten them down hard. The screw-on filler spouts are poor and don't fit well - they all seem to dribble fuel from the top of the can when trying to fill the mower. Can ...

You could also try replacing 50ml of water with red wine or Guinness - not in same loaf of course.

Re: Apple tree pest

Hello a56 This looks like an infestation of wooly aphid. This is not easy to deal with as the cunning little critters cover themselves with a white 'wool' and most treatments just run off. If your tree is small you could try rubbing them off, wiping with cotton wool soaked in meths or flush them off...

Re: mice problems

Hello Malcs
Are you sure it's mice.
Could it be slugs?
If so then pellets are the answer. If you have the strawbs netted against birds then there's no problem.
