Re: Early Winter Bits and Bobs.

Had a puncture on the way shopping this morning. Luckily I was alongside a supermarket car park, so got off of the main road to change the wheel. I can't remember the last time I had to do it, and it took me a few minutes to work out which way up the jack should go My OH was very impressed with my s...

Re: Early Winter Bits and Bobs.

Very frosty here this morning, after raining most of the night. It made the side roads interesting :) to walk on.

Had a long walk along the beach. The tide was just out, and bright sunshine. Lovely :D

I'm just about to put the kettle on OH, so get on your way

Re: Christmas Day.

I managed to get some leeks and carrots from the allotment this morning, but an awful lot of the site is under water.

I've never seen it this bad before. No more winter digging for a while that's for sure :(

Re: Christmas Day.

I hope Sally is OK Peter. It's always a worry when they eat everything they find isn't it. Had a nice time yesterday. I supplied all the veg for the Christmas dinner. Potatoes, Leeks, Parsnips, Carrots, Sprouts, Brussel tops, and Celeriac. Went for a walk in Ruskin Park and watched the ring necked p...

Re: Wishing everyone a peaceful and safe Christmas

Hi all, A Happy Christmas to everybody It's been pretty rough down here, especially along the seafront. A few fence panels and dustbins blowing about, but not too bad damagewise so far I'm glad I got all the veg for Christmas from the plot on Sunday, as I didn't fancy going out this morning. Up to L...

Re: Early Winter Bits and Bobs.

Remarkably calm here today. Went for a walk along the seafront this afternoon and a lot of shingle has been washed up onto the promenade, but otherwise nothing out of the ordinary :)

Picked some whitefly with sprouts clinging to them this morning :D

Re: Early Winter Bits and Bobs.

Afternoon PJ, I really am pleased for you, and all your family too, what a relief that must be. Evening OH, Very relieved at how it has turned out, after being told there was nothing they could do. Was out with the dog this afternoon and a lady in a wheelchair dropped some letters which promptly bl...

Re: Are beards the new Winter Warmers ?

I grew a beard when I was about 17 ( long, long time ago ) and had one ever since.
I did shave it off once, but let it grow again straight away as I didn't like it :D
Keep it trimmed fairly short these days, but it used to be a bit bushy in my younger years :D

Re: It's definitely autumn bits and bobs

I've still got the root of one wisdom tooth in place. The dentist broke it off and couldn't get it out. After about an hour, I told him that I'd had enough, and he said he had as well :)
He said what about the other one. I said forget it, I'll keep it.
