Re: Allowable exercise

We've been to the plot today, we had to drive because we had the rotorvator with us. Half an hour into it suddenly we heard police sirens x several, then the police helicopter came over, then we had a dog handler arrived, then more police all over the plots. The helicopter hovered over our shed for ...

Re: Happy Birthday.

Please can I say thank you for your birthday wishes. It was greatly appreciated. I have a problem with my computer. I have a very old computer which collects my emails. I have a new (a bit newer than the old laptop but not much) laptop which I can't, for some reason, sort my emails out to collect. I...

Re: New Book

Also bought Jamie's Veg cookery book so going through that also. I have a very bad habit of buying cookery books I just love reading them. I probably need to go a...

Re: New Book

I have just ordered it as I saw it in a book shop and thought it had some very good ideas. I am trying to make our allotment work harder for us. We've been growing stuff for 18 years but still like finding new information or ideas.

Re: Pea and Bean weevil?

Thank you for your suggestion, we have sprayed with Bug clear gun for fruit and veg and they have sprung into life. We hate using sprays but this was definately a last resort. They seem to be picking up.

Re: Where are they now?

I'm still around and gardening, but I have had a more than a year of ill health, I went to the doctor with pains in my breast and then I was on a treadmill of test after test. One of my tests was so stressful that the injection gave you three and a half years of back ground radiation, which could gi...

Pea and Bean weevil?

This year we have been hammered by something eating all round the edges of the peas and broad beans.(Looking it up we think it is the pea and bean weevil) We have had this before but never as bad as this year. We are organic and have been for 18 years but are now considering using a spray as our pea...

Re: Allotment garden shed and an accident

Thanks Westie, of course I will never let him forget it! but he also regrets what he did immensely. It is now giving him problems doing his job as he is self employed. I wish this weather would settle down as we cant do the roof till it is less windy and dry.

Re: Allotment garden shed and an accident

Stephen, he fell on to flags! I think most people would hurt themselves falling over 6 feet onto flags. Primrose he certainly has learned his lesson the hard way. He thought he was helping me to be able to get on with my seed sowing!
