Actually maybe it is just retailers desperation to capture larger share of the available market

Re: Seville oranges arriving earlier than they used to?

Like lots of things that are available earlier and earlier. A recent example being items in shops for Christmas. Easter Eggs will appear soon no doubt. Market forces I guess, Seville oranges are definitely earlier, as I have said on my social page elsewhere sadly I wont be making any this year, In f...

Re: Full Steam Ahead

I hope to travel behind Tornado later in the year when it travels from Edinburgh to Aberdeen, I use this site to find out what steam hauled trains are running and when and where. m Hopefully being the operative word. Taking a time to run on mainline metals again after blowing apart on April 14th. S...

Sounds like value for money.

Yes Wilko is as good a option as any except the range is a bit more limited and not as much in some packets. Perfectly good value though

Re: Pa Snip Enterprise Log New Year Snippets

Went to a garden centre today that I usually avoid as too expensive but they had a large array of loose seed potatoes at £1.89 a kilo, bought all I need to save me a longish drive to the usual place. Bought Rocket, Charlotte and Picasso as usual plus some Carolus to try, sounded interesting, anybod...

Re: Compost aerators.

Gave up aerating, didn't make a lot of difference to the quality of the compost or how quickly it rotted down, well not enough to seemingly justify the effort. BUT, it will depend on what your compost bin is made of. My 4 are made from pallets so they get wind flow to slats all round. BTW. Welcome t...

Re: Annual Weeds, a Perennial Problem?

Remove surface weeds before seed heads form
Dig out deep root weeds (sorry advocates of "no dig")
Practice regularly throughout the year so that plot is clear for next Christmas break ......Hoe Hoe Hoe
