Low price Compost Bins.

Essex County Council has been running a discounted Compost bin scheme for its residents, up to three bins per household. Short or long sleeves?

Do you wear long or short sleeves for gardening work? My wife keeps telling me long sleeves would prevent me getting scratches on my arms, but I view that as an occasional hazard of gardening . The only protection I normally use is a stout pair of leather gardening gloves and those usually for hedgi...

Sounds sensible Piglet, surely it would apply to any trailing crop, even squash if you can support the resulting fruits. Wasn't there a chap in KG grew all sorts of stuff over the outside of his glasshouse for shade with some sort of temporay frame?

Chantal, if you have a couple of people prepared to dig a trench it is easy to turn one standpipe into more. Just dig from where it is to where you want more, then get appropriate length of blue plastic water pipe and get a plumber to hookm it up and add another standpipe at the end. Repeat as requi...

Care of Gardeners Hands

I'm sure everyone has their favourite method for getting the muck off their hands/paws/trotters (delete as appropriate) . This is mine, and I am curious what other methods (blowtorches, liqued gold and any similar methods excluded.) people use. I find it is usually the pads of thumb and forefinger t...

I reckon it might be an internal parasite of the snail.

However The Malacological Society Of London does not publish online info and the most relevant book seems to be £120.00 on special offer.

So any biologists out there?

Jerry, that prompts my addled brain to suggest a wire shopping basket and an adapted A frame, to hang the basket handles from.
