Re: Early Winter Bits and Bobs.

This afternoon's National One rugby match was strang. From the bar I volunteer to run we could just see players at the halfway line, we're twenty foot behind one dead all line offset slightly from the posts. At times we couldn't see the posts at the other end and a few times couldn't see players in ...

Re: Autumn Bits and Bobs.

So many fools then put the decomposing pumpkins out in their garden, or worse in public spaces "for the wildlife". Hedgehog charities are really unhappy with that as pumpkin gives hedgehogs diarrhoea, mostly fatal. Not seen a hedgehog in years, but plenty of evidence of rats on dumped pump...

Re: Compost Tumbler

Had one like an acorn with a very shallow cap and long & thin "nut". Utterly useless. Any weight it was difficult to rotate. Cap side was always at the bottom due to thicker heavier plastic. Rain and decomposition juices always filled the cap and no drain, do always got wet n smelly to...

Minced and composted environmental activists, the clothing should all be plant based, with a bit of wool.
Might have more fox and rodent interest in the compost bin.

Re: Death list

One of the nicest teachers at my school (1970's) announced some weeks ago on the school (closed 1990) Facebook page that he would be "checking out shortly" and last week a fellow teacher announced his passing from cancer.

Re: Late Summer Bit and Bobs.

Years ago I only used to see them over the M40, when visiting a friend. Then occasionally spotted one Hertford way, they arrived here as occasional visitors a few years later and never saw them east of the M11. Now they're as common as muck, had two circling on Sunday, way up high, and see them ofte...

Best avoid Google then Tiger!

I google the Remarkable2 tablet at work, as someone's "reasonable adjustments for disability" review by DWP had recommended it.

It now haunts me on YouTube with constant adverts.

I work in local government, the worst I've seen is "Domestic Abuse Practitioner" which is dreadful juxtaposition of English words, it needs something like Prevention or Reduction instead of just Practitioner!

Bringing home the bacon meant the worker earned enough to afford bacon.
