Re: Garlic for winter planting - where to source them

I agree with Freddy, :) Garlic Farm. From now on I'm going to stick with hard necks as they have fewer (but larger) cloves, none of those fiddly tiny cloves too small to use nearest the stalk.

I have two 4 foot double light fittings with Growlux tubes above my propagation table. I wouldn't be without them.

I have never been so glad my sound card has gone t*ts up than watching this old duffer. Talk about 'padding it out'.

The information in the title could be reduced to ten seconds.

Re: Excellent 'allotment waiting list' news (& a little 'but

Fingers are crossed for you . Being a cynical old Hector, I should get 'chapter and verse' about these 8 plots. It sounds a bit dubious to me, (is there a list for us and a list for others)? Anyway, I'm sure you can refuse a plot possibly due to its condition and not be sent to the end of the line....

I keep popping into the council office and telling them of an allotment weed strewn. O.K. the holder may have difficulties, but should be able ro delegate.

Re: Correct nuts and bolts to use on Qualcast lawnmower.

I think you can eliminate metric.

If you take a sample of the bolts to a small Engineering concern, they will offer it up to a thread guage which looks like a small fan made up of hacksaw blades! They should sort out your problems.

Personnaly I'd go with Whitworth. :o Cheers, Tony.

Re: myxomatosis

I hope it is an isolated patch. It's a horrible way to die even for a lettuce chomping rabbit. I used to see dozens of dying rabbits in the late 50s and early 60s up in the lake district.

I think I might have a bit more than a touch of blight. North Wiltshire.

Going back through other communications, the throng seem to think they are a waste of cash and space.

As you seem to have hit nirvana on the compost heap front, I would just start a new heap.
