I'm dreading it, I'd almost forgotten it happened I was so out of it and I don't know what I said, something about Pink Fir Apples. If they use my bit I hope no one I knows sees it, that's for sure. I must have been stoned as usually when I see a camera I run away! However, Piglet was a STAR! :P

Get into the groove...

Hi Johnboy

I like the idea of planting in a groove, I've always just used a deep dibber hole. I've not had any problems with rotting but I'm going to give it a go all the same.

Ooh you really laid yourself open for that one Piglet; perhaps I could have phrased that better.

Just remember less is more...

Can we please get a couple of things straight here. Piglet was the star turn with Mrs Piglet and I as backing vocals. I'm easily recognisable as the porky (but not as porky as Piglet - yet) one with pin prick eyeballs which came NOT from the meths but from the painkillers. Thank you Piglet, I am fee...

Hi Chez I have heavy duty modular green plastic staging which I bought at my local garden centre and have used for about 6 years so far. I can be broken down and used as single tier or built higher. The only thing is that the bottom tier is better used as shelving as it's quite dark. Suits me, but i...

Johnboy, you are the most unlikely Girdlebrain I have ever met. Great to see you yesterday; and Tigger, Chez and Piglet (aka Gorillabuns).

If you'd chucked any of my wine on the fire your shed would've burnt down. The Iraq War would have been over in days if that had been available...

Probably not but I suspect the hope is that listening to just a bit of the best of each will enthuse people to go and buy more. :)

King Richard has been replaced by Jolant and I grew both this season. Having grown King Richard for years I have to admit Jolant is the same but better as they don't bend over when they get really tall. Long white stems and beautiful flavour.

I still think Piglet is way ahead with his new name of Squeezit Gorillabuns, that takes some beating

Um, isn't that illegal? I have images of Grock and Lizzie in the Liverpool equivalent of the General Lee being pursued across the plots by the Committee...

Peter, I'm lucking it wasn't the WATER bowl! Took me some time to get the soggy Winalot out of my hair though. I was young.

I went through a wine making phase about 20 years ago; an episode not to be forgotten. My carrot and barley wine had the same chemical content as petrol, I could have run my car on it. The sloe and rose hip wine took the lining off the bucket and our U bend has never been so clean, before or after. ...
