Hi Piglet,
I agree with the words Pomous and Arse but the words that really come to mind are Pot, Kettle and Black!!
I view the original letter only as a bit of trolling for which the originator is becoming quite well known.

Carrot Nantes Frubund
Hi Colin,
I have actually never heard of this variety but would imagine they are very late summer sown and there would be no problem with germination.
What are the instructions on the packet as I would be more than interested to know.

The Magazine.
Hi Mr PH,
I live in a very rural area and on Sunday morning there were 8 copies of TKGM in the shelf in the local Garage/Newsagent/Mini Supemarket and today they are sold out leaving all the others still on the shelf.
If this is repeated nationwide sales will be booming!! Quite deservedly so!

Pak Choi.
Hi Bal, I do not quite understand some of these postings as I have found Pak Choi to be quite a tough little plant. I grow it in Modules and transplant and have even sent it Mail Order and people have come back for more so it must work. Varieties grown: Joi ChoiF1, Mei Qing Choi F1, Dwarf Canton and...

Hi Colin,
I have only ever grown Asparagus in a bed especially for that purpose and I feel that most people do likewise.

Hi Ken, I fear that the loo roll may give you that little extra blanching but in fact could be part of your dificulty. I suspect that the loo roll will always be damp and that will freeze and not give any protection but if you earthed them up the moisture will always drain down and the leeks would n...

Hi Colin and Nog, I have always grown Asparagus on 24" x 24" spacings and it has worked out very well over the years yet commercially they say 30cm x 120cm so in Imperial measuement it is 12" x 48". I rather think that these dimensions are more to do with ease of picking than gro...

Unusual Wines
Many years ago I had a West Indian friend (sadly no longer with us) but he had an enormous patch of Blackberries at the back of his house and as they ripened he use to pick them and simply stuff the berries into a demi-John with an air lock. He simply let nature take it course and it made the most w...

Allan, For goodness sake give us a rest. As ususal you are getting futher and further away from the very simple original question. You apparently do not read anything properly because Tuckers are frequently mentioned in the magazine. I for one couldn't care less which seed company you deal with. Tuc...

Leek Problem
Hi Ken, I live at 500ft elevation and an area of high wind and many frosts that an awful lot of people do not get. I always earth-up my Leeks to prevent what has happened to yours. I always fetch out a 6" 'V' groove and then put the dibber into the bottom of the groove and then drop the young l...

Allan, If you after quantity you must go to Tuckers Market Growers Catalogue. In that catalogue Tornado seeds are £8.50 for 5000 seeds which is exactly the same price as Musselburgh quoted by you which is .17pence per seed. I have the Home catalogue it quite clearly states "350 seeds unless oth...
