I only stepped out of the house to feed the birds, fill the coal bucket, I was going to put the ashes in the bin, but the wind blew them away before I took the 4 steps to said bin, oh well.

East winds

Just a heads up, these East winds seem to be bringing a lot of migrant birds over, we are having large numbers of Waxwings in Scotland, they will spread out so keep you eyes peeled.

Redwings have been here a while and I saw my first fieldfares yesterday, so they'll be on their way ciderboys, keeping an eye out for waxwings too, we had some grey phalaropes blown over in the storm, proper lost their way they had.

Never grown them, but I well remember the advice of burying a dead sheep under a vine, never sure if this was a wind up or not and I have also heard of putting wool round them, but again no idea why. Rains stopped and the winds dropped, don't have to worry about the roof coming off tonight, to be fair this wee bungalow seems to be a toughie.

Still here, half the village lost power, but it's back on again, the wind has dropped to a more normal 40mph but it is still raining hard.
