Re: Late Winter Bits and Bobs.

Westi, I don't dig anymore. I just can't sustain it :( So I just add to the top and take weeds out as they come. I only have a little plot, so not too much work. I've just put a nice thick layer of manure on the surface, and will let the frost & worms take it down. It all gets a little shuffle w...

Re: Neighbours

Nowt so funny as folk Stravaig! My 86yr old neighbour won't accept any help whatsoever, even when she's ill. I think my dh managed to take over mowing the lawn one day last summer, but that's about it. She is very determined. We've been neighbours for over 26 years, and she is very nice. I can't eve...

Re: Early Winter Bits and Bobs.

Geoff, I’ve just bought a 1kg tub for £8.99 on Amazon. It’s probably cheaper in a shop, but I’ve been ill and unable to get out. I was pretty shocked at that price too, but as I only have a small patch, 1 kg should last me a while. Good luck.

Re: Early Winter Bits and Bobs.

We have been suffering from the flu since last week, but I did manage to cook some roasties etc for lunch yesterday and we have plenty left for bubble & squeak today - my DH’s favourite. Hope you all have a relaxing day today. X

Re: What's everyone having for Christmas?

I was going to make a veggie wellington, but we both have the flu and it’s hanging around like a bad smell. Ironic, as I’ve lost my sense of smell and taste 🙁. I’ve no idea if I will be up to cooking a roast, but hope to.

I'll be outside all day on Saturday in Chesham with my stall at the local produce market. The forecast is sunny (yay!) but between 3-5 degrees. Brrrr!

Re: Autumn Bits and Bobs.

I did manage to get the cover off the tomato house yesterday before the storm arrived. There were a few green ones, which I have taken indoors to ripen (hopefully). There are still one or two mini cucumbers in the greenhouse, as it is still mild, I'll leave those in for a bit longer.

Re: Autumn Bits and Bobs.

We’ve had so much heavy rain recently, that our garage roof has sprung another leak. We’ve been mending the leaks ourselves over the years, the 25 year old felt roof need replacing, so we had a man out today to take a look. That’s Christmas presents sorted then! 😆😆😆
