When my children were growning up I had to deal with all sorts of crisis's from dog bites to head injuries. Thing is I tended to faint at the site of blood . The injured child would turn up, I would promptly sort out injury and then when they were fine, would crawl off some where to be ill in privat...

I'm loving the hot weather, it makes such a wonderful change from the cold and wet of the last couple of years. Not doing much on the lottie though as it is in the middle of the site with no shade so it gets really too sunny for my skin even with factor 30 sunscrean on I still burn.Just going down t...

Got my second greenhouse free from a neighbour near the lottie, we had to dismantle and reassemble it.. took it down in 5 sections so it was a lot easier to reassemble pluss the original instructuctions were included. I had to replace a couple of panes of glass and all was good. :)

It was a bit touch and go when I first disturbed them but I put the plant pot over them and left them alone for a few days. I think it was a very new nest as it was quite small. I look through the holes on the pot and it looks like it has grown qite a bit. The bees are white bottom ones. Not sure wh...

Bees in the compst bin

A couple of months ago whilst emptying one of my plastic compost bins I disturbed a small bees nest in there, so I promtly covered it with a large black pot with many holes in. Glad to report bees are doing well. the nest is situated on my bracica bed, and they are coming and going at a frequently ....

I don't so much plait mine as wrap the string around the stems very tightly, adding one at a time and then trim the stems. Might seem like cheating but as long as you don't remove the stems when using garlic/onions the string stays intact. :)

my onion seedlings are in a cold greenhouse, however they are also covered with clear propagator lids for extra protection. I have done this for 4 yrs now and always have a good crop,

My propagator was a christmas present 3 yrs ago, wouldn't be without it now :) . Just put my tomato and and pepper seeds into it 5 varieties of both :D

Started my onion seeds off, these are doing well so going to look through my seeds this afternoon and start off what ever takes my notice :D , I have a heated propagator that will take 2 large trays.
