My large pest came in the form of a cat from a new neighbour, now i could not hurt a cat but when it uses my border as a toilet steps had to be taken, so the next best thing was a menacing looking concrete ornamental cat from the garden center. Job done not seen it since.
thanks anyway Primrose I will keep asking around locally. Westi, they are a bit more energetic up here they climed to the top of my apple tree which is about 6ft and cleared the lot last year.
I have just had about a 3rd of my potatoes eaten by them, what i would like to know is? can i still plant in that bed or will i have to disinfect or even remove the soil, would appreciate your thoughts on the subject. thanks jeff

I would agree with desalination i delivered a couple of loads towards a desalination plant in dubi (UAE) in the seventies, you would not think that place was a desert now would you?
