Re: How's your slug tolerance coming along?

Not a major problem for me that I am aware of, although did find a small one under a pot in the cold frame yesterday. Any I find go into a sealed container of washing up water so you could say they are being looked after.

Is a slug a homeless snail?

Re: Controversial diet matters.

I gave up eating meat in the 80s after watching a programme on the TV showing how the animals were treated. I like most veg & fish, fortunately since moving away from the city to the coast I get lots of home grown veggies and fresh fish locally. Glyphosate, no idea what that is but would it not ...

Re: Chilli and Sweet Pepper

Interesting comments about freezing peppers & chillies.

When I have frozen peppers form supermarket and thawed them out they seem to go limp and loose their crunchiness, never frozen chillies yet.
Is there something I should be doing to get over this?

Re: Birdies....yay!

Seems to be loads of young birds about, we get some of them hitting the window.

Was working in the garden and had to stop & watch a black bird feed 2 of his young & chase a third one away. Put some dried worms down for them, worked stopped for a while.

Re: Birdies....yay!

Do you put any thing in the boxes to encourage the birds?

Also wondering how far apart multiple boxes should be, as saw a box 18 inches with 3 holes for sale, would they get used being so close.

Re: Chilli and Sweet Pepper

I have a small plastic green house for the chilli & pepper plants.

Some days it gets a lot of condensation on the inside walls so I open the flap.

Is this good practice or should I leave the flap closed?
