Re: Not Cooking exactly but help with Juice!

I bought one of those Bullet juicers earlier this year. It is superb for making juices. I had a cheaper model but I burnt the motor out. I use our kale and chard from the garden with other fruit and veggies. BUT whatever you do, make sure you don't use the pips because I have read somewhere, and I d...

Re: Happy Birthday.

Good morning everyone, many thanks for your birthday wishes. I have just come back from a week in the Cotwolds and we have had a superb holiday, in a little barn conversion half a mile off the road and in the middle of rolling countryside. I had a brilliant birthday. The farmers were harvesting and ...

"full of veg" tomato sauce by Jamie Oliver

I have just made a huge pan of the above recipe. I have made enough for 9 jars of sauce plus one which we ate tonight. Tonight I fried off several small courgettes, steamed some french beans and a red pepper hiding in the fridge and added them to the courgettes, added plenty of black pepper. Then I ...

Thank you so much for trying the recipe and letting me know that you liked it. I think we got our Pomegranate molasses from either Sainsbury's or Waitrose.

Courgette and tomato chutney

Oops I made this chutney I printed off the internet. I read the recipe and then forgot to put four onions into the pan or the cinnamon stick. I have been having problems with our hob so the chutney took a lot longer to cook thant the recipe said. I happen to re read the recipe and realise what I had...

Re: Post holiday disease syndrome

Yes I know what you mean. I grabbed my next door neighbour last night after being away in Shropshire from Thursday afternoon and got back on Monday afternoon. We called at the plot on our way home and picked the huge courgettes beans and sweet peas. As we were parking on the drive my really nice NDN...

Dead rat!!!

We have a serious problem with rats (and now rabbits) on our allotments as we are now getting so many people bringing chickens, ducks, geese etc on to it and they don't have the experience on how to look after and feed their animals properly. Three days ago I smelt a horrid smell near my shed Today ...

Re: Moroccan Lamb (or Chickenwith tomatoes, almonds and apri

Do try it PP as it is truly amazing. We used flaked almonds as we couldn't get whole almonds and I thought it worked really well. Please let me know if you try it and if you like it as I always worry when I recommend a recipe in case no one else likes it. :(
