Re: Full blown Spring Bits and Bobs. - 2017
Was busy hoeing the veg patch when I spotted some one inch high "weeds" which I didn't recognise. Then I remembered I had let a dill plant go to seed last autumn and realised it has provided me with some nice little freebie seedlings. They're in totally the wrong place for this year's pla...

I only use the leaves. I tried eating the stems but couldn't get on with it. Too "earthy" for me.

If you're moving towards the rain, it doesn't matter.
If you're moving away from the rain, you should get less wet.
If the rain is sideways on, run or walk like a crab.

I apparently have a BMI that is lower than over 90% of like males in the UK and lower than 56% of like males in the world. All well and good. Why does it then say, "If everyone had a BMI like yours it would add 4.5 million tonnes to the weight of the world ? Sorry, blonde moment. There are obvi...

I think that Alan's answer hits it on the head. There is an art to pricking out successfully to obtain the maximum but that is through skill. It is for sure an accomplishment and when you bring in a crop successfully there is a great feeling of achievement. In the past I had seven mouths to feed an...

Re: Given up on potatoes.
I have read on another site about drilling holes a foot deep, dropping in a potato in October/November, covering and wait until next spring.
Apparently the warmth from the soil keeps the Potato alive during the winter months and it grows as normal in Spring.
Possibly worth a try?

Camilla Parker Bowles was having a discreet chat with the Queen and confessed "Every time I give Charles oral sex I get an upset stomach"
The Queen appeared sympathetic and replied "Have you tried Andrews?"
