I try and harvest them, in race, before the birds eat them though some years they win.

Strimmers and shredders both require a lot of oomph and despite improvements in battery technology are still better when they are petrol powered.

I'd vote for scissor traps. Every so often we get problems in our vallley. A few days with set traps seems to clear them for a while. It seems if I catch 4 or so then they disappear.

Feeling really smug today. Went aimlessly into the polytunnel then started to clean up. Discovered a handful of handtools I thought I'd lost and managed to recreate my stock of plantpots for next year.
