Re: Grow organic vegetables in small spaces
If you really don't have space anywhere for a compost heap you might try experimenting with composting down small quantities of kitchen waste (banana skins, peelings etc) in pots while the vgs are actually growing i them. I,ve tried this successfully with tomatoes whilst they,ve been growing althoug...

Best of luck Stravaig! Both buying and selling in the property market is a stressful actvity. It,s amazing how much " clutter" you acquire over the years although I suspect with the number of times you've moved recently you've probably got it down to a fine art!

Myrkk We have a keysafe too and find that in heavy winds the covering flap which fits a little loosely often gets accidentally blown open so check whether yours is loose. The first time it happened to ours we thought it was an intruder then in a storm we actually heard it blow open and start flappin...

Re: Spring Bits and Bobs.
I took glucosamine for years then gave it up yet still have a crippling arthritic knee. Perhaps I should try again. Tomatoes form a huge part of our diet in various forms. Mr Primrose who,s the full time cook now would be really lost without them. Can't think of anything savoury yet non aciditic whi...

Re: We're moving to Scotand
Rent vs Buy.? Always a dilemma depending on peoples', personal priorities and inclinations.. Personally I,d opt to buy because I like to be master of my own destiny, as far as anybody can be in these uncertain times. And I never want somebody else to have the power to pull the roof from over my head...

How do you cook them? Not that I would attempt to try, but much as Ihate slugs and snails I,m totally against the cruelty inflicted of cooking any live creature in a slow manner which causes them pain, because yes, they do have a nervous system and feel pain like any other living creature. I feel mo...

Just pray they're not sycamore seedlings - don,t think so or you,ll have a sycamore woodland in no time. I think they shed double "propellor wingsL when they shed their seeds.

Spotted an almost jet black fox cub this afternoon driving through a wood in returning from a hospital appt. Are they rare? . Never heard of one before. Pretty little creature but took us a few seconds to realise what it was as it looked like a black whippet.

When qi was actively gardening qi confess I used to rehome them by throwing them over the back garden fence into the garden wasteland that still exists there. Now aI can't get out there to have a regular urge aI expect they,re having a field day. I always believed that thrushes used to enjoy feastin...

You don't need a formal exercise plan OH, You daily chores certainly provide it.! But this wet weather is proving a major issue for everybody, not just amateur growers. Farmers with livestock and agricultural growers are particularly suffering and that's going to. Impact us all. One actually finds o...

Happy Easter everybody! Broke open a Cadbury,s Easter egg this morning. What a disappointing experience. I'm not a huge chocolate consumer but since they were taken over by Kraft some years ago I suspect their chocolate formula has changed, very much for the worse.. Wouldn,t bother again, a bit like...

A bit belated but on the issue of your OH needing his driving licence for ohoto ID for voting, he can always sign up for postal voting. No iD needed for that I think but you have to Bon electoral roll.
