Hi Bouncinbob I had the very same plant appear last year in my allotment. I cant remember its correct name but I did find it after some searching, it is a kind of Datura as Old Herbaceous said and is poisonous (leaves as well as fruit). Pull it up and bag the whole thing and take to your local coun...

Gooseberries

Thank you for your input Johnboy....guess what I will be doing on Monday?....yep I will be trotting around the allotments armed and dangerous looking for a friendly face (who has some good bushes) Last week I received a lovely gift from a neighbour (without asking) he presented me with 3 cultivated...

Hi Anne
I do wish you had had a reply to your post, as I have just put in some raspberry cuttings and it would have been a useful answer for myself also. :( Going with what I know about other plants I would chance pruning to encourage the new growth needed to provide the fruit...hope this helps.

Gooseberry cuttings

Hi there
I would like to grow some goosberries and I think I can get my hand on some cuttings (saving a penny makes me :)) any advice on taking goosberry cuttings would be welcome. Also ...any idea on how long before cuttings come to fruit????
