Re: HOLES IN PAK CHOI AND ROCKET
I'm sure that I read that as they jump up when disturbed, if you waft a piece of wood over the plants, covered with vaseline, then the beetles will jump up and get stuck. I have also had success with a fine mesh net over plants.

Drawn Pumpkin plants
Having lost squash plants - to foxes I think as I had mixed in chicken manure when planting out- I sowed more seed but failed to keep a close enough eye. Now have elongated stem. Should I bury them deep when I plant them out?

Rabbit straw on compost heap
We have been putting the contents of our rabbit hutch onto the compost heap. Obviously has quite a lot of straw in it and was wondering how long it might take for t to be ok to apply to veg beds etc.

Liquid Feed from Borage
Can you tell me how to make liquid feed from Borage. Having sowed them once I now have them popping up all over the place. Whilst I like to leave plenty as they bring bees and look lovely frozen in ice cubes there are still plenty that need to be dug up. Thanks in advance for your help

Very Leggy Cabbage Seedlings
Have sown summer cabbage and they have produced incredibly leggy seedlings despite being in a light place. Is this normal? Should I bury them deep when I plant them on ?

Moulin Rouge Seed Potatoes
I have been chitting my potatoes on a windowsill for a few weeks now. Whilst the Winston and Kestrel have produce lovely dark coloured sturdy looking shoots, the Moulin Rouge have only produced some barely noticeable tiny shoots. Does this mean they are pathetic. Can I help them along?

Borlotti Beans
We have a great crop of borlotti beans which I have been leaving on the plant to dry. The problem is that they are on the same canes as Runner and French beans which are being struck down by a curious illness. As we are going on hols for a fortnight on Friday would it be better to pick the borlottis...
